Standardised and semi-standardised company surveys are conducted by the Chair of Economic Geography with the goal of estimating the demand from companies for international professionals as well as identifying any potential bureaucratic hurdles in setting on international experts. Standardised telephone interviews are conducted with companies. Furthermore, the insights gained from these standardised surveys are extended even further in the form of semi-standardised surveys with selected company representatives. In concrete terms, the experiences gained including any difficulties are documented and the issue is broached concerning the advantages and disadvantages owing to setting on international experts and respective needs.  The insights gained should enable an ongoing reflection and targeted adaptation of the measures needed to improve the receptivity and capacity of companies in Thuringia to take on and commit themselves to international specialists.
